- A 'Sega Mega Drive / Genesis remix' of Plastic Love by Mariya Takeuchi with a complementary aesthetic video.
The track was made using a MIDI and a soundfont with samples recorded from the Mega Drive, and was not sequenced for real hardware, so it isn't really that authentic. It also exceeds the number of channels of the console's sound chips.

Just realized that plastic love would make a perfect song for sonic 1
It honestly fits really well with the J-pop soundtrack Sonic 1 had.
Feels more like a particularly chill Streets of Rage track to me.
Or a genesis era Amy stage.
What made you realize that?
Maybe not the regular stages - it’s too slow but the special stages definitely.
Especially since the special stage music isn’t very good

Thank you so much! It makes me very happy to hear that other people appreciate this. I originally made the video just for fun. I'm working on some more Mega Drive covers like this. I really love the sound of its FM sound chip, since it's related to the one found in the DX7 and other Yamaha synths of the 80s.

The volume of the lead is too loud. But overall this is my favorite Mega Drive version of this classic
honestly i think it's faithful to the original hardware, the leads were always blaringly loud on all the sonic levels. there's a sense of nostalgia with it
